Mount Kenya Climbing Treks

The Sirimon Trek, one of the finest approaches to the peak area. Sirimon offers some of the best views of the main peaks with a gradual climb which can be done leisurely. You will traverse the mountain by ascending the Sirimon Trek and descending the Naro Moru Trek.


Climb / Trek Itinerary
Regions: Mount Kenya

Day 1
Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Wilson Airport (WIL) or Nairobi Bus/Train Station, guest will be personally met by our Nairobi office. We will be standing outside the arrival section holding a signboard with your name on it. You will be transferred to Serena Mountain Lodge for your overnight stay. (D)

Day 2
Transfer by vehicle from Serena Mountain Lodge to Sirimon Gate (2600m). Trek for 3 hours to Old Moses Camp (3300m) for overnight in tents. (B.L.D)

Day 3
After breakfast, trek to Shiptons Camp or Kami Hut for your overnight in tents. (trek takes 5-6hours). (B.L.D)

Day 4
Predawn attempt of Point Lenana (4985m) taking 3-4 hours and peak circuit via the Austrian Hut, Two-Tarn Camp and back to Kami and Shiptons Camp for overnight. Back to the camp at 5.00-6.00p.m. (B.L.D)

Day 5
Trek via the Hausberg Col to Mackinders Camp for overnight. (trek takes 5-6 hours). (B.L.D)

Day 6
Descend through the Naromoru Route to be met at Station or Naromoru Gate. Connect with transfer vehicle back to Serena Mountain Lodge for overnight. (B.L.D)

Day 7
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Wilson Airport (WIL) or Nairobi Bus/Train Station for your departure. We bid farewell to your family as you depart Kenya and hope that you will visit us once again. (B)

Guests departing on late evening flight, next morning flight or drive normally have the two options available to them:

1. Select a day room or overnight at a Nairobi hotel to relax before their flight.
2. Select from the variety of day excursions in Nairobi available before departure.
